Sedgley and Gornal United FC are backing Play safe, footballs national campaign, to ensure that everyone is focussed on safeguarding in our national game. The campaign is officially supported by NSPCC as well as all of footballs governing bodies across the UK and is backed at all levels of the national game.
This years focus remains on the key roles that parents and carers can take in ensuring that football is played in a safe and positive environment with two messages being conveyed :
- Are you aware of the vital safeguarding role that you play in football?
- Are you aware of the short and informative free safeguarding course specifically developed for parents and carers which can be accessed by clicking the link and is also available from our resources page
Play safe weekend on 1st/2nd October is the spotlight that the FA is putting on safeguarding throughout football running ahead of the NSPCC keeping your child safe in sport week from 3rd to 9th October.
We encourage all our parents and carers to take the safeguarding for parents/carers course and should they need support they can contact our club welfare officer directly e-mail gary.davis@sgufc.co.uk tel 07947 621880.
