Until 2005 Gornal was part of the youth structure at Gornal Athletic. Gornal Girls was created in the summer of 2004 following a request from a group of girls led by Beth Moore who were interested in forming a girls football team. The girls first training sessions were held on Abbey Street Rec, Lower Gornal on Saturday mornings. In 2005 the girls held a sponsored penalty shootout at the Old Chainyard pub in Coseley, the money raised was added to a club bagpack at Safeway in Kingswinford to purchase the first kit for the first two teams, an U10’s and U12’s. In that first season the U10’s finished as league runners up in the SDYFL. Gornal Colts followed in 2005 under the then Chairman, Steve Watts and a small group of coaches/managers.

In 2016 the club incorporated under Gornal Community Football Club Limited to truly reflect the ethos of the club in delivering football to all members of the local community.
