Today the draw takes place for the first and second qualifying rounds of the 2023-24 Womens FA Cup.
Last season Sedgley and Gornal United FC Women reached the first round proper after defeating Norton Canes Ladies in the first qualifying round, Hereford Pegasus in the second qualifying round and Basford United Ladies from the East Midlands Regional Premier League in the third qualifying round before being knocked out by National League side Solihull Moors. This was the furthest the club had reached in its history (previously the club, as Gornal Ladies, had reached the 3rd qualifying round before falling to defeat at the hands of National League side Radcliffe Olympic).
Its all down to the luck of the draw and we are looking for a favourable draw to kick start the season with the first qualifying round taking place on 10th September, just one week into the start of the season.
